When Dr. Sison might recommend a bridge.

A missing tooth is more than a gap. Neighbors drift, the bite shifts and chewing moves to one side. A bridge closes the gap without surgery. Whether it is the right fix depends on the teeth next to it.

Two visits, about two weeks apart.

1Numb and shapeThe teeth on either side of the gap are numbed and gently shaped to hold the bridge.
2Digital scanAn iTero Lumina scan captures the gap and neighbors precisely. No trays.
3Temporary bridgeA temporary fills the gap while your ceramic bridge is made. Chew carefully on that side.
4Fit and bondAbout two weeks later we check the fit, color and bite, then bond it in place.

Bridge costs depend on how many teeth are involved and the material. After your exam you get a written estimate. Most PPO plans cover a portion of a bridge; we verify your benefits first, and payment plans are available through Sunbit, Cherry and HFD.

Bridge questions, answered.

A way to replace a missing tooth without surgery: a false tooth held in place by crowns on the teeth either side of the gap. It is fixed in place, so you brush it like your own teeth.

An implant stands alone and protects the bone, so it is usually the longer-lasting choice when the bone and gums are healthy. A bridge is faster, avoids surgery, and makes sense when the neighboring teeth already need crowns or an implant is not an option. Dr. Sison will walk you through both.

Usually two. At the first we shape the neighboring teeth, take a digital scan and place a temporary. About two weeks later the finished bridge is fitted and bonded.

No. The teeth are numbed while they are shaped and scanned. Mild sensitivity for a few days afterward is normal.

With floss threaders or a water flosser once a day, plus normal brushing. Frank will show you at your first cleaning after it is placed.

With good home care and regular checkups, many years. We check it at every exam.
