Plenty of people keep their wisdom teeth for life. We check them on the 3D scan at your exam and only recommend removal for a reason.

Good to know

Recovery, realistically.

Plan for two or three quiet days. A Thursday or Friday appointment means you are back by Monday.

Days 1 to 2: rest and cold packs. Swelling peaks around day two and then fades.
Soft, cool foods. Smoothies without a straw, yogurt, mashed potatoes.
No straws, smoking or vaping. They can dislodge the clot and slow healing.
Back to normal within a week. Any stitches dissolve on their own.

Usually between 17 and 25, when roots are still forming and removal is simplest. Adults can have them removed at any age if they are causing problems.

Not necessarily. We look at each tooth on the 3D scan and recommend removing only the ones that are a problem or likely to become one.
