Questions, answered plainly.

The things patients ask us most, in one place. If yours isn't here, call (949) 251-0011 and a person will answer.

Your visit

A warm welcome, digital X-rays and a 3D scan, a gentle cleaning when appropriate, and a full exam with Dr. Sison. You leave with a written plan and clear pricing. Plan on about 90 minutes.

New patient guide

Every six months for most people. If you have gum disease or a history of cavities, we may suggest every three or four months, and we will explain why.

No. We take them based on your risk, usually every 12 to 24 months for healthy adults, and only when they change a decision.

Yes, free parking on site at 2981 Michelson Dr. If the lot is full, use the structure across Carlson Avenue attached to LA Fitness.

Yes. Give us the name of your previous office and we will request your X-rays and records for you.

What to bring

Insurance & cost

We accept most major PPO plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Delta Dental, Humana, MetLife and UnitedHealthcare. We verify your benefits before your visit.

Insurance we accept

Our membership plan is $399 a year and includes two cleanings and two exams with X-rays. We also offer monthly payment plans through Sunbit, Cherry and HFD, and accept cash, debit and all major credit cards.

About the membership

If you are paying without insurance, yes, always. You will see the exact cost in writing before anything starts. With dental insurance, we call your carrier and provide you the best estimate we can based on the most up to date information they will give us. Occasionally that information is incomplete or your plan has clauses we are not told about, so the final amount can differ. After your claim closes, we will keep you updated on its status.

Dental insurance is designed to help with cost, not to decide what is best for your oral health. Think of it like a coupon: it covers part of certain treatments, not the whole picture. What you need should be decided between you and your dentist, and we will always tell you when your plan and our recommendation differ so the choice is yours.

How we decide

Comfort & anxiety

Yes, and you are not alone. Tell us when you book. Netflix, blankets, noise-cancelling Bose Frames, and an unhurried pace. Nothing happens before you understand it.

Comfort options

Dr. Sison is known for injections patients do not remember. Topical numbing first, then slow and steady.

We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for anxious patients and longer procedures. Ask when you book.

Of course. A friend or family member is welcome to sit with you.

Treatment

Decay is painless until it reaches the nerve. Catching it early means a small filling now instead of a large filling or crown later. We will show you the spot on your X-ray, and if the risk is low we will often watch it instead.

Why careful people still get cavities

A filling only works when enough healthy tooth remains to hold it. Once the damaged area gets too large, a big filling leaves the remaining walls thin and prone to cracking. A crown protects what is left. When the tooth allows, we use a smaller version called an onlay that keeps more of your natural tooth.

Crowns, explained

Not if your exam shows active gum disease. The Dental Board does not allow it, and a routine cleaning would leave the infection under the gums untreated.

Deep cleanings, explained

We use KöR whitening because results last for years and it rarely causes the sensitivity cheaper systems do.

Teeth whitening

Most mild to moderate crowding, spacing and bite issues, yes. A free consultation with a 3D scan shows you the likely result before you commit.

Invisalign at mend

Yes, for preventive care such as checkups, cleanings, fluoride and sealants. For more involved treatment in young children we will refer you to a pediatric dentist we trust.

Emergencies

Yes. Call (949) 251-0011 as early as you can and we will do our best to see you the same day.

Emergency dentistry

Call us right away at (949) 251-0011, the first hour matters most. For step-by-step guidance, see our knocked-out tooth page.

Knocked-out tooth

Severe pain, swelling, a broken or knocked-out tooth, a lost crown or filling, or bleeding that will not stop. If you are unsure, call and we will tell you.
