A tooth that feels like it was always yours.

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up. It is placed by our periodontist, Dr. Shah, and finished with a crown by Dr. Sison, all in one office. Planned in 3D, so you know exactly what to expect before we begin.

Why it matters

A missing tooth does not stay a small problem.

Neighboring teeth drift into the gap, the tooth above or below grows longer, and the jawbone under an empty space slowly shrinks. An implant fills the gap and, because it sits in the bone like a root, keeps the bone from disappearing. Nothing else we place does that.

02Bone shrinksWithout a root, the jaw under the gap slowly recedes.
03Chewing suffersYou favor one side and other teeth wear faster.
Your options

Three ways to replace a tooth. We will help you choose.

An implant is usually the longest-lasting answer, but not always the right one. Here is how they compare in plain terms.

A titanium post in the bone with a crown on top. Stands on its own, so nothing is done to the teeth beside it.

How it works

A few visits. Mostly healing in between.

The process takes a few months and, depending on your situation, usually five to seven appointments. Almost all of the time in between is your body doing the work.

Dr. Shah First

Consultation

Dr. Shah examines the area, takes an X-ray, and talks through the plan with you. You leave with a written estimate.

Dr. Shah Next

Placement

A short appointment with gentle numbing. Most patients are back to normal routines the next day.

You A few months

Healing

The implant bonds with the bone. A temporary tooth can fill the gap if it is visible. Once healed, a 3D scan captures the implant for your crown.

Dr. Sison Final visit

Your new tooth

A crown designed from a digital scan and shade-matched to its neighbors is attached. Brush and floss as normal.

Why Mend

A specialist and your dentist, in the same room.

Implants often mean being referred across town to a surgeon you have never met. Here, Dr. Shah places the implant at mend and Dr. Sison finishes the crown, sharing one 3D plan and one set of records. Fewer offices, one team.

  • Board-certified periodontist on site. Dr. Shah trained at Boston University and places implants here, not across town.
  • Planned in 3D. iTero scans and imaging show bone, nerves and the final tooth position before anything is done.
  • One team, one record. Placement and crown are coordinated in the same office.
  • Comfort first. Gentle numbing and Netflix on the ceiling.
  • One written price. Scan, placement, healing visits and crown, quoted once.
Cost and payment

One written estimate before anything starts.

The cost of a dental implant depends on how many teeth, whether bone grafting is needed and the type of crown. Rather than guess online, you get one all-in quote at your consultation, covering the scan, placement, healing visits and the final crown.

Many PPO plans cover part of the process. We verify your benefits before you arrive, and monthly payment plans are available through Sunbit, Cherry and HFD. Patients come to us for implants from Irvine, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Tustin and across Orange County.

Implant questions, answered.

A small titanium post placed in the jaw where a tooth root used to be. Once it heals, a crown is attached on top. It looks, feels and works like a natural tooth, and you brush and floss it the same way.

Placement is done with numbing, and many patients say it is easier than the extraction that came before it. Expect a few days of soreness, managed with over-the-counter pain relief.

Usually several months, mostly healing time while the implant bonds to the bone. The appointments themselves are short. Your plan will show your timeline before you start.

Dr. Nischit Shah, our periodontist, places implants here at mend. Dr. Sison designs and fits the final crown. You stay in one office with a team that talks to each other.

Most healthy adults are. We check bone with a 3D scan and look at gum health first. If bone is thin, a small graft can often make an implant possible.

The implant itself is designed to last for decades with normal home care and regular checkups. The crown on top may be replaced eventually, like any dental work.

Many PPO plans cover part of the process, especially the crown. We verify your benefits, give you a written estimate before anything starts, and offer payment plans through Sunbit, Cherry and HFD.
