When a gum specialist matters

A regular cleaning cleans above the gumline when gums are healthy. When pockets deepen, bone support drops, or implants and grafting enter the picture, general dentistry alone is not enough.

Frank, our hygienist, measures gums at every cleaning and handles gum disease therapy and periodontal maintenance. When the case is advanced, Dr. Shah steps in. You do not get sent across town with a new chart and a cold start.

How care stays coordinated

Dr. Shah works from the same X-rays, 3D scans, and records as Frank and I do. Cleaning schedules, gum therapy, and crowns or implants do not live in three separate offices.

Most PPO plans cover deep cleanings and periodontal maintenance. We verify benefits first and give a written estimate before treatment.

What a first specialist visit looks like

You are still at 2981 Michelson Drive, Suite B. We review why you were referred, what your measurements show, and what options fit your goals. If grafting or implants are on the table, you hear tradeoffs and cost before anything starts.

If early gum disease is the issue, Frank’s deep cleaning and a tighter maintenance schedule may be enough. Specialist time is for when that is not enough.
